Today I took Lily to the doctor for her six month check-up. She is 14.5 pounds and 26 inches long. She is in the 10th percentile for weight (25th corrected) and 50th percentile for height (75th corrected). Developmentally she only failed her sitting up test but Dr. Silvernale said there's no doubt that she can't do it - she just won't stop moving long enough to try. He couldn't believe how active and busy she was yet perfectly content just hanging out. Apparently we have a really good baby - who knew with such a rocky start! Lily was super intrigued by the stethoscope - she gave it a good yank when the doctor was trying to listen to her heart and lungs. As with her other checkups, she had several vaccines. She screamed for maybe five seconds while she was still on the table and stopped immediately when I picked her up. Then she gave the poor nurse the death look - she's learning quite young.
The doctor and I also discussed cutting back her reflux medication. Mike and I forgot to give it to her last night and this morning so we thought now was a good time to start....until she projectile vomited her entire bottle all over me before bed. Perhaps it's a bit too soon to stop the drugs.....

Why I Love Our Daycare
The number one reason I love our daycare should be because they take great care of Lily. But really it's because they have free coffee. So on days like today when Lily decides she wants to wake up at 3:00am and hang out, and I snooze my alarm for 52 minutes and roll out of bed just before seven - they always have coffee waiting for me at daycare. I mean, I'm sure I pay for it in one way or another....

Happy 9/15!
For most of you today means nothing. For my fellow CPAs - well today still means nothing since the deadline this year is actually 9/17. And for my friend Carolyn - it means her little boy is 6 months old. But regardless, this is one of the most relaxing Saturdays I've had in a few weeks.
We spent most of the morning running errands and now we're enjoying this beautiful day on the deck. The summer was so unbearably hot that we were unable to really enjoy the best part of our new house - the deck. Lily unfortunately woke up with a terrible diaper rash this morning so we decided to let her roll around outside without her diaper. She loves being outside.
