On the move

It's official...our little one is crawling.  And pulling herself to standing.  Where did the time go?  We've had a pretty eventful two weeks.

Look what I can do!
Lily stayed at Grandma and Grandpa's while Mike and I went to the Michigan vs. Iowa game.  Unfortunately Mike's beloved Hawks didn't fair too well.

Go Hawks Go!

The week of Thanksgiving was a busy one - both in terms of running around like crazy people and for our family growing.  Mike's cousin Nicole gave birth to baby girl Sloane, my cousin Nate FINALLY proposed to his girlfriend Kami, and my cousin Ashley gave birth to baby boy Austin.  We had so much to be thankful for this year!  I'll be sure to post more pictures from Thanksgiving as soon as they are off my camera!

So Big!

Uncle Ray got me this monkey.  And it won't leave me alone.

Yup.  Still there.

My first Thanksgiving feast!

Baby it's cold outside

We've had a pretty eventful week.  Last week was Lily's first week in the Infant 2 room at daycare.  She's the only one who isn't actually mobile but she's a lot older than any of the kids in the Infant 1 room.  And when I say not mobile I really mean that she's not crawling or walking.  She's definitely mobile in one fashion or another whether it's rolling towards what she wants or scootching towards it.  It seems Diesel's toys very easily find their way into Lily's mouth even when they are across the room from her.  It's even easier when Diesel shares.

Not sure if Diesel is sharing or if Lily just thinks she's sharing
One of these days my legs will actually go where I want them to

Saturday we met our friends Ryan and Kait for lunch which somehow turned into a girls shopping afternoon and a boys beer tasting afternoon.  In this situation beer tasting actually translates into camping out in the bar watching football while Kait, Lily and I shopped.  Kait carried Lily around pretty much the whole time and yesterday commented on how sore she was from carrying around a 20 pound baby.  I hate to burst your bubble Aunt Kaitlin but Lily barely breaks 17 pounds.

Lily "celebrated" her 8 month birthday on Sunday - in the dark - we were without power from around 11:30am to 9:30pm.  Thankfully the weather was so beautiful we were able to spend a lot of time outside.  And just two days later we woke up to snow covering the ground.  It's crazy how drastic the weather changes can be.  Mike and I were talking about how this is the first time there has ever been snow in Lily's life time.  Even though she was born in March, the days and weeks following her birthday were unseasonaly warm.

Enjoying some sunshine
All bundled up
Because I'm pretty proud of myself, I just had to post the following picture of my DIY stockings.  I bought the fabric and pattern last fall with my mom and promised Mike I would make them.  Well the supplies sat in a box for over a year before I decided that I really did have the ability to use a sewing machine.  Poor Diesel gets the one I experimented on while Mike and I fought over the other colors.  Pretty soon they'll be filled - hard to believe Christmas is fast approaching.

Erika's - Lily's - Diesel's - Mike's
And for those of you thinking about the upcoming holiday season and need a little giggle - this is for you.

34 Weeks Old!

Sunday marked Lily's 34 week birthday!  It's strange to think she was born at 34 weeks and how slowly that time went by compared to the last 34 weeks.  It's hard to believe Halloween has come and gone and the holidays are fast approaching.  Lily is on the verge of crawling and the Hoy house has mostly been baby proof.  Our biggest issue right now is getting Lily to not put Diesel's toys in her mouth...even though she can't crawl she somehow finds them all.

Yesterday was Lily's first full day in her new room at daycare.  It sounds like she is doing pretty good and is mostly just interested in all of the other kids.  Many of them are familiar faces who started with Lily in the infant room so it's nice to see those parents again.

Here's a few photos from the last week - I can't believe how big she's gotten!

Happy Halloween!
Love my new hat

Diesel has learned her odds of getting food from Lily are pretty high

Go Lions!
Just thinking about crawling
I'm pretty much ready for this whole winter thing

Just a typical weekend morning at the Hoy house
