Mmmm...fall

I admit - I'm a sucker for fall.  I welcome the cooler weather (I said cooler not cold), and I love the color changes and the arrival of pumpkins, warm drinks, scarves and boots, lazy rainy Saturdays, and weekends full of football.

Ever since school started our weeks have been flying by on a rigid schedule.  Historically I've taken the morning shift at daycare drop off and Mike would pick up.  With my new schedule, Mike's gotten a taste of what it's like to deal with two lovely morning birds - insert sarcasm here - and it's amazing that the three of us even get out the door by 7:15am.

Sundays are full of football, weekly food prep, and last minute changes to my lesson plans.  Mondays fly by in a blur with me in class from 8:00am-10:00pm followed by a short day on Tuesday with Lily's swim class in the early evening.  Wednesday brings another long day followed by another short day with dance class on Thursdays.  It's usually by Thursday that our weekly food plan gets thrown out the window and neither of us feels like turning on the oven long enough to bake whatever meal is awaiting.  Or you've left it sitting out on the counter all night.  Yup.  Guilty.  You'll likely find one (or both) of us in the bar next door to dance lessons ordering up pizza or subs.  Fridays are my saving grace.  Lily and I sleep in, hit up the grocery store, do laundry, try not to make it look like a tornado has run through our house, and then we prep for movie night.  Saturdays fly by in a blur and then in Sunday.  And I step back and think, where in the world did that week just go???

Erin and Scott's Wedding

Erin and I have been friends for what seems like forever - although Mike likes to remind me that he and Erin went to daycare together which means he's known her longer.  Erin was a grade younger than me going to school but we seemed to run around with the same group of friends.  As we've gone through college and adulthood, she's always been there for me - listened to me cry and whine (and wine), celebrated with me, told me when to suck it up, laughed with me all night long and supported me without fail.  She's the kind of friend that you still spend Friday nights with in your pajamas without makeup, drinking beer, and being real.  If you ask her - she keeps me around because I always give it to her straight and never sugar coat a thing.  True friendship.  So Mike and I were over the moon when she found Scott.  I think it's rare in life to have your husband and your best friend's husband be so "compatible".

And like the previous wedding - I'll start off with the shenanigans.  It's been a long time since I've had a girls weekend...it wasn't long before Erin, Aimee, and I were living it up like we were in college again.  YIKES.

And then it was the wedding!!!!!!  Live band, great food, beautiful venue, rain - but no tornados, and great friends.  Always the perfect recipe for a wedding.
