We've had a pretty eventful week. Last week was Lily's first week in the Infant 2 room at daycare. She's the only one who isn't actually mobile but she's a lot older than any of the kids in the Infant 1 room. And when I say not mobile I really mean that she's not crawling or walking. She's definitely mobile in one fashion or another whether it's rolling towards what she wants or scootching towards it. It seems Diesel's toys very easily find their way into Lily's mouth even when they are across the room from her. It's even easier when Diesel shares.

Not sure if Diesel is sharing or if Lily just thinks she's sharing |

One of these days my legs will actually go where I want them to |
Saturday we met our friends Ryan and Kait for lunch which somehow turned into a girls shopping afternoon and a boys beer tasting afternoon. In this situation beer tasting actually translates into camping out in the bar watching football while Kait, Lily and I shopped. Kait carried Lily around pretty much the whole time and yesterday commented on how sore she was from carrying around a 20 pound baby. I hate to burst your bubble Aunt Kaitlin but Lily barely breaks 17 pounds.
Lily "celebrated" her 8 month birthday on Sunday - in the dark - we were without power from around 11:30am to 9:30pm. Thankfully the weather was so beautiful we were able to spend a lot of time outside. And just two days later we woke up to snow covering the ground. It's crazy how drastic the weather changes can be. Mike and I were talking about how this is the first time there has ever been snow in Lily's life time. Even though she was born in March, the days and weeks following her birthday were unseasonaly warm.

All bundled up |
Because I'm pretty proud of myself, I just had to post the following picture of my DIY stockings. I bought the fabric and pattern last fall with my mom and promised Mike I would make them. Well the supplies sat in a box for over a year before I decided that I really did have the ability to use a sewing machine. Poor Diesel gets the one I experimented on while Mike and I fought over the other colors. Pretty soon they'll be filled - hard to believe Christmas is fast approaching.

Erika's - Lily's - Diesel's - Mike's |
And for those of you thinking about the upcoming holiday season and need a little giggle - this is for you.
