There have been years in between that we've been forced to miss out on...Mike's best friend happened to schedule his wedding on poker run day - they forever get to celebrate their anniversary with us. Another year poker hands were sold out and we were forced to sit and drink all day - my mother isn't quite able to recall that day. Last year we participated and then headed to a wedding...already too tipsy. This year my brother scheduled his bachelor party on the same weekend. Mike came home Saturday morning (I swear still drunk) and just kept on rolling. It's an event you put on your calendar every year and you don't let anything stand in it's way. Even if it's your nephew's first birthday (not me but I know a guy). I'd like to say that now that Lily is around we take it easy....but then I'd be lying....I mean she's right in the middle of all that action...
It happens every year. And come hell or high water we're typically a part of it. The first year my parents were preoccupied and unable to attend which no doubt made it the most memorable year of them all. I have zero pictures from that year because someone went swimming with my cell phone. And his. And almost my brothers.
