Living the Good Life on Goodwood

It's been a year since we made the quick and crazy decision to leave behind a house we'd barely inhabited two years and move into an outdated house on the riverfront.  And it's LITERALLY been a year long process with lots of blood (unfortunately), sweat, and tears (yup) to get the house nearly the way we want it.  I'm happy to report that exactly on the one year anniversary of our move, we have completed all of our projects we had considered immediate.  There are still a few minor things here and there - paint some trim and update the main floor fireplace.  The major things left on our list include complete remodel of the kitchen and master bath and I've conceded to waiting a few more years - well at least one - in hopes of replenishing our bank account first.  Unless we buy that boat...

So for those of you who've been following along the last twelve months, here's a look at how far we've come since day one!

Dining room - paint and new trim.  Hopefully this fall we'll attack the bookshelf and window.

Basement - complete renovation including adding an additional bedroom/office, reducing the size of the original bedroom, removing the second full kitchen, new ceiling, new stairs, new windows and slider, new carpet, new, new, new.

New walk-through entrance to bath from bedroom

Basement "family" room after - the additional bedroom took up most of this space however we gained four feet behind me by shrinking the original bedroom.  Don't mind the cheeseball.

Laundry room (if you can call it that) - we tapped into a hall closet to get my again Pinterest inspired laundry area.

Main floor bath (Sparty) - complete renovation including tapping into yet another hall closet to install a bathtub, saying farewell to Sparty, new vanity, new toilet, new tile

Guest bedroom - no real changes here except for new carpet, trim and doors

Lily's bedroom - paint, new carpet, trim, and doors

Lily's room - excuse the mess

Kitchen - still on my list...

Main floor family room - bye bye paneling and "ucky" carpet.  Hello brightness (disregard the unfinished fireplace)

Master bedroom - we said goodbye to the pink walls and pink carpet, slapped on new trim and new doors and now have our haven

Sunroom - easily my favorite room in the whole house.  Especially now that Lily's toys have all vacated to the basement.
