It's hard to believe that she's eight weeks old already. Time was already flying by with Lily and now I feel like we're at warp speed here. Lily's last day of preschool was the Friday before Memorial Day so it's been just us girls hanging out. We've got plans to stay busy with swimming, play dates, and our summer bucket list. We're about three weeks in and so far have only crossed one thing off...I blame the heat. And having a newborn.
When I picked Lily up on her last day of school, her teary eyed teacher presented me with Lily's portfolio full of artwork from her entire time at Appletree. I have grand plans to get it scanned and made into a book. It was so fun for us to go through each piece - and I mean each and every piece we looked at. The last day of school happened to also be crazy hair day and I think I may have created a monster when we used the pipe cleaners during Dr. Seuss week. Lily insisted we surf Pinterest for an elaborate do and we landed on cupcakes. Yes. I complied.
Other than her same old sass, Lily has done incredibly well with Julia. She will sit and hold Julia or play with her constantly. The bond that has already formed still takes my breath away.
And although we have a newborn, we're still trying to fit in life on the river. I will say it's changed - we aren't the first on the river. Once the sunseekers, we're usually out for a twilight ride to try and stay cool.
Other items worth noting - Mike and I had our first night out without the girls, Lily performed in her second dance recital and had her first sleepover.
