It's been awhile since I've updated our blog. You would think with the conclusion of busy season I would have all this free time. I've mostly been filling it with all the things I should have been doing during busy season but never got around to. Lily has been developing quite the personality in the last few weeks - it's been so much fun watching her grow but also crazy at the same time.
We spent a weekend at my parents house recently. They've purchased a crib and queen bed for my brother's bedroom. While he complains they are taking over his room I remind him that he's better off sleeping in the laundry room anyway - I mean he's always bringing it back home anyway. Lily hasn't always had the best of luck sleeping at their house. She wasn't a big fan of the pack and play, hence the crib purchase. On the Friday night that we stayed there she woke up numerous times just screaming. By 3:00am, Mike just brought her into bed with us and she was out like a light. That was the first (and hopefully last) time we will be co-sleeping. If only I had a picture of the three of us and Diesel in a queen sized bed together. Promoters of co-sleeping must all have king sized beds.
That weekend Mike put the boatlift in with a new set of magic wheels (I swear I helped push a little). Both Diesel and Lily loved being able to hang out on the lake for a bit - note Lily's winter coat!

Happy hour with Aunt Katie!! |
In other exciting news, we finally said good-bye to the orange machine (the grand am) and purchased Mike a new VW Passat. This transition was long overdue and Mike was actually sad he didn't get to say good-bye. Friday I stopped into the dealership to have it appraised for trade-in and ended up buying him the Passat on the spot. It's a manual transmission so I got to drive around a loaner for the day until the dealership delivered the Passat to our house - they are so good to us. Mike and the boys stuffed it full of their golf clubs and headed up to Crystal the very next morning for it's first voyage.
