Hello 2019!

I know I sound like a broken record but will time ever slow down?  I feel like I was just reviving our blog and here we are in 2019.

I'm not really one to make New Year's resolutions.  2018 was to be my year of reflection, living in the moment, being present with the family - perhaps that's a resolution in itself.  The most notable update between our blog revival post in June and now is certainly surviving our home renovation.  I'd like to be able to say it's complete however we've had another setback and are waiting on one last replacement cabinet.  Stay tuned for the before and after views of our master bathroom.

We finished out the year bundled up enjoying the slopes in Northern Michigan.  Lily has become quite the little skier and I'm getting to the point where I cannot keep up.  I'm seriously considering a lesson for myself - although I'm not sure a lesson can cure my fear of breaking something.  We have three more weekend trips planned before we head to Utah to visit my brother and sister-in-law for spring break.  Mike and I sat down this week to map out our trip itinerary and now we’re counting down the days!  We're looking forward to what 2019 has in store for us.

My personal goal was to reconnect with my camera and capture an unstaged view of the girls' childhood.  I follow so many wonderfully talented photogs on social media and am drawn to those who share the good, the bad, and the ugly.  I joined an online photography community, enrolled in some classes, took 3,708 pictures, and have 304 in my "need to edit folder".  I even got brave enough to take on a couple of paid shoots...perhaps 2019 will bring on a few more...but in this moment, I’m happy to have something to focus on.  And since a picture is worth a thousand words, here’s a look back at our 2018.  Happy New Year!
