That's right - Lily's sitting up (not to be confused with previously titled posts "spitting up"). Just last week she "failed" this developmental milestone at her six month check-up. It's crazy how her progress changes in such a short period of time. I still don't 100% trust her to sit unsupervised - mostly because she face planted when I was trying to snap a zillion pictures. She was less than impressed with me.

We leave for Hawaii a week from today and of course Lily decided now was a great time to get her first ear infection. All week she'd been pulling at her right ear but she didn't ever have a fever and she was perfectly content. I thought maybe it was teething but she just kept doing it. Mike told me I was being a helicopter mom but I took her back to the doctor (she gained 4 ounces in a week) and sure enough it was an ear infection. I can just imagine if we had ignored it and gotten on that plane only to have her scream the entire trip. She's on an antibiotic....which she has gotten really good at spitting back out at me.
Today Lily and I had a lunch date with our good friends Libby and Scott - whom we haven't seen in ages. Lily put on quite a good show after we'd finished eating and demonstrated for the entire restaurant how well her vocal cords worked. I'm pretty sure every person in the building was staring at me as I carted Lily out to the car. But for the majority of our visit she was absolutely fine.
